Making a book queue

I've turned my Notes document where I list interesting books into a book queue I maintain here.

Why do this?:

  1. I wasn't trusting the list enough; sometimes I'd want to read something and not think to check the list. Capturing too much stuff you don't use is a common anti-pattern, to be addressed when you notice it.
  2. Posting the list helped me move a few books to the "read summaries but not the book itself" list.
  3. If at any point the list grows longer than the expected number of books I'll be able to read in the rest of my life, I'll know I need to either (i) find more reading time, (ii) reconceptulize the list, or (iii) take some books off the list.
  4. Many people enjoy browsing lists of books. Some of them might benefit from seeing this one. They might also be inclined to give me useful recommendations or anti-recommendations.
  5. It is fun.

The books are very roughly in priority order.
